Two More Wins for the Season
The Furies wrapped up another weekend with two more wins on the books. The WPL side gave New York several gaps in the first half, allowing the visiting team to rack up a few tries. But in the second half the Furies dominated, putting enough points on the board to take home a 15-point lead win. Next on the field, the Furies D2 team crashed through the Georgetown Women’s rugby team. The Furies took advantage of their size and experience to defeat the energetic collegiate team, who did succeed in earning one try not to go pointless. After a weekend of games in disparate locales, the Washington Women showed that they can rack up the wins from far and near. While it wasn’t the best rugby the Furies have put forth, resulting in some sloppy play and harder games, both sides managed to work together to correct their mistakes and stay on top ’til the end.
