In Atlanta, the Furies sustained a tough loss against the ‘Quins. In the first half the home team put 38 points on the board. The Furies regained moment in the second half to finish the match 43-14.
Meanwhile, the Furies at home came together to defeat Chesapeake. Many players took the pitch for their first Furies match. Chesapeake dominated in the first 25-minute period, keeping the Furies on their heels and leading 7-0. In the second period the Furies worked to even the score, finishing the second period 7-7. The Furies turned it on in the third period, scoring several tries and allowing only one more. The game ended with 33-14, Furies.
This weekend the Furies will play together at home, partaking in the Beltway Battle Against Cancer. This round robin mini-tournament with NOVA WRFC and the Maryland Stingers raises awareness and funds for fighting cancer.
