The Furies started off the weekend in Savannah with a loss to the Louisiana Selects 0-12. While always tough to lose a game, it was a good chance to shake off some rust and loosen up for the season. Coach Fitz was impressed with the defensive line.
The 2nd game of the day showed much improvement and the result agreed: 33-5 over UCF. The Furies played strong the whole game and started out by scoring 19 unanswered points in the first half. Tries were scored by Furies NK and Amy and guest players Clerkin and Alex. In order to work on continuity the players set a goal of trying to improve phase play by increasing the number of 3+ phases of possession and the improvement was stellar. The team was able to execute 3+ phases of possession 10 times in the first half and 9 times in the 2nd half. All Furies had a change to play at least a half and are excited to see what the rest of the tournament brings.
The Furies will be back on the field at 9:30am Sunday.
